Are You Happy With Your PPC Campaign Profits?
Hi everyone,
I’ve been a bit slack with my posting lately, you know what’s it like, there’s never enough time in the day!
I must say I have been flat out working on a couple of exciting projects that I will share with you soon.
By the way, we have had a ton of great questions over the last month.
Keep em coming!
I don’t know if I told you, I work with my brother Anthony. He’s a mad guitar player, plays in a rock band (and I hate to admit it, he’s even more successful than me in internet marketer – he’s a bit of a PPC and marketing freak).
Anyways, he’s going to be answering many of your questions now.
About time, he put his guitar away for a while and did some real work reckon!
One of the regular topics we get questions on is on Pay Per Click advertising with Google AdWords, Msn and Yahoo.
So this is what we have come up with for you.
Today, there is a SMALL FAVOR we would like to ask of you.
Don’t worry, it won’t cost a penny.
Anthony and I, have a short 3 – 5 minute survey we would like you to fill out if that’s OK?
The aim of the Pay per Click Advertising ( PPC) survey is to find out the best way we can help
you and others become even more successful with PPC advertising.
We would like to then later SHARE some of the many PPC Tips and
Techniques we have learned (alright, ‘Anthony’ has learned and I have copied) and tested and adopted over the last three and a half years.

Finally A Product That Lives Up To The Hype!
Hi all,
Everyone that knows me would know that I don’t promote other products very often, if at all.
But I’ve been blown away by a product recently, or more specifically from the amount of money I have made with it, so felt compelled to share this with you.
On August 21st, I purchased an e-Book that supposedly claimed to expose the secrets of the mega-affiliates.
Now I tend to buy a lot of products, to get a feel for what others re doing in the Industry and ignoring the hype on the sales page, I figured it was worthwhile looking into.
Essentially it’s a how-to guide showing you exactly how to make decent affiliate sales on Clickbank.
Now I had done next to no sales previously on clickbank, because affiliate sales had never been my focus, but I bought the e-book and decided to follow the techniques and to see what happened (I was going to use this on my blog).
Well I have to say I am staggered by what happened.
By following the techniques in the e-book I made over $4,500 in less than a month with very little effort. Don’t believe me?
Check out my sales figures direct from my clickbank account.
http://www.overwhelmingtraffic.com/clickbank.html
None of these sales were from a list, all sales were made by following the e-book step-by-step. I did not advertise this to any of my lists. This should give you confidence that you don’t need to have a list of people to sell to, you can just jump in and start making an income today.
All the sales listed on that page, are from a small group of affiliate programs I researched based on what the e-book suggested.
I made my first sale on day 2, and as you can see with the figures my second fortnight is bigger than the first.
In fact from September 5th to 10th, I did not do anything at all because I had other commitments to attend to.
If I had actually continued to work on it as I did during the period August 29 to September 4th, I would have made a lot more money.
In that period alone (seven days) I made $2,791.11!
And it was so easy, I just followed a step by step guide. The thing is there is 10,000+ products on clickbank, so there is always going to be a product you can find that not many other affiliates are promoting.
If I was going to give you a piece of advice, it would be to focus on some of the products with a smaller gravity (the book will explain this) that have a great sales page.
That was my little focus, and it had almost instant results! The e-book shows you in detail what to do, and it’s so easy, and you can be almost guaranteed that the majority of people trying to make it in affiliate sales don’t know about these methods (unless they have this e-book).
The feeling you get from making over 200+ sales in a short period of time is unbelievable. Wouldn’t you like a piece of this action?
If you want to learn how to make instant money on clickbank, this has to be the best e-book out there. Certainly it is the best one I’ve seen, and my results prove it works.
If you want to make some instant Affiliate cash, buy the book today, you won’t be disappointed.
Grab your share of affiliate sales and get started today!
Here is is: – http://www.overwhelmingtraffic.com/rockstar/
Let me know how you go with it, I’d love to hear about your success!
Cheers

Squidoo to Drive Traffic To Your Website
Have you checked out Squidoo?
This is a relatively new website (recently coming out of beta) that is getting rave reviews from Internet Marketers (who are aware of the site, and many are not) . This site it getting a great reputation as a quick and painless way to drive web traffic, and after spending some time using it over the past week, I would tend to agree that it really is a force to be reckoned with.
What if I told you that my page on squidoo rose to the top position in Google for particular keyword phrase in two days flat (this from a brand new page that had never been indexed before). Impressed? I certainly was.
Let’s talk a little about what Squidoo is. It’s a way to get a web page up and running very quickly (no html/programming experience needed). Squidoo refer to a web page as a lens. Unlike other sites of this nature, they encourage Internet Marketers. The only pre-requisite is that the content on the lens should be unique, and not just be a re-hash of an existing web site.
This is a particularly important point for affiliate marketers, who might be tempted to include only a few words, then have a redirect, via an affiliate link to the product site hoping to make a few quick dollars. Doing this will likely get your lens deleted.
Squidoo has a large number of modules which you can add to your lens automatically, including links for Amazon, eBay, a GuestBook (to get links from other websites or lens), and many more. In additional Squidoo automatically adds Adsense to your website, and allows you to share in any profits made when people click a link on your lens. You also get to share in the revenue from the other modules. Alternatively (and this is what I have done) you can donate all your profits of this nature to a charity, all done automatically for you.
You can also “roll your own” content, and include your own html (although there are a few limitations). But it is possible to add functionality not available on squidoo using this method.
For an example, check out one of my sample lens I setup on ways to increase web traffic on squidoo. If you scroll down towards the bottom of the page, you will see an opt-in box where people can subscribe to my mailing list. The html for this page actually resides on my server, and is loaded automatically by squidoo any time you visit that lens.
Publishing the page on squidoo is very easy, most of the setup is point and click, and the interface is very clean and useable.
Because the web site is fairly new, a lot of marketers are not familiar with it, so this is a golden opportunity for you to sign up and setup a web page.
Check it out and let me know how you find it. If you would like me to post a follow-up article on some great ways to get you into the search engines quickly drop me a line.
Until next time….

My Interview With LifeTips.com
LifeTips.com contacted me a week back and asked me to appear on their weekly radio show. I did this a few days ago, and you can now download and listen to the interview at http://www.webmasterradio.fm
Unfortunately they got the name wrong on the web site, it’s Tim guys, not Tom. Luckily for me they got it right in the interview.
Anyway have a listen and let me know what you think? I start talking about halfway through the audio, and I give away some useful tips for people trying to break into Internet Marketing.
The Interviewers raise some interesting points they raise about determining traffic once I have finished talking (after the break).
These comments prompted me to write the QuastCast and Alexa post right here on this blog.
As always your welcome to leave a comment, or follow up with any questions.
Until next time…

External Web Traffic Statistics Are Generally Useless
I’ve had lot’s of communication recently from people stressing because their website is not ranking at all or “high enough” in traffic ranking sites such as Alexa.
Alexa’s own faq, mentions that they currently index around 11.2 million web sites. PC Authority, released an article in November 2006, stating that over 100 million websites were on the Internet (although only half were active). They also state that new websites are coming along at a rate of 3.5 million websites per month.
So Alexa’s popularity index is effectively representing around 10 to 20 percent of all websites on the Internet. In other words, Alexa is showing you the popularity of 10 to 20 percent of all websites on the Internet. Hardly a true representation of the majority of web sites, is it?
And the reason why they can’t be more representative of the majority of websites? Their data is only captured if the visitor to a website has a toolbar installed in their browser (this information is then sent back to the “mothership” to be included in traffic rankings).
It get’s worse though. The toolbar can only be installed on Microsoft Windows, and on Internet Explorer only. Sure, there are plugin’s that you get download that will display the Alexa Rank for a particular page, but the data capture only works on one platform, and one browser!
If you believe the numbers, Internet Explorer at best has 80% of the browser market (probably a lot less) so another 20% of the Internet community is excluded from the rankings. When you factor in “non-windows” users, i.e. Macintosh, Linux, devices such as PDA’s, mobile phones, etc you really starting to walk on shaky ground.
And what of particular groups, for example Software Developers. I don’t know of any software developers who use Internet Explorer daily (other than to test a particular page for support). So if were the case worldwide, Software Developers (using them purely as an example) would not be represented in the traffic rankings at all!
So what are we left with: -
- 10 to 20 percent of all websites on the internet (at best) are even included in Alexa’s rankings
- Only the surfing habits of users on Microsoft Windows using Internet Explorer are considered important enough to be included.
- Surfing habits of users on non Windows Environments are not considered.
- It’s likely that entire professions (e.g. software development) would have very little representation.
Hardly conclusive is it? One of Alexa’s major competitors Compete, does little better, they do support Firefox (yay!) but only Windows users, and only around 2 million users. So their entire ranking is determined by this select group of people.
Essentially if you have a good ranking in Alexa, Compete or other types of companies like this, you need to be aware that it’s a ranking by a very small subset of the entire Internet community that has determined it.
Now I am not saying you should ignore the rankings from these web sites. They are definitely good as a start point, and it’s likely (but not guaranteed) that you are probably going to be having lots of web traffic from visitors outside the selected group who these sites rely on for their calculations if you have a decent rank with these types of sites.
What I am saying is that there is no need to break out into a cold sweat if you not doing well according to their rankings.
A company that is on the right track is Quantcast they do not require a toolbar to be installed on the visitors computers, rather they use data from advertisers, publishers, ISPS, etc as a basic for their traffic calculations. In addition a web site owner can add some simple html to their site which will then firm up the numbers (sending data back to Quantcast to help in traffic calculations). Of course this opens up the door to data manipulation by web site owners.
What this means is, if a web site owner did not know about Quantcast, or did not use services that partner with Quantcast, they may not appear in their calculations at all! And they might be getting millions of visitors per month!
Quantcast’s own faq mentions that the data they collect is but a drop in the ocean compared to the entire Internet.
There service is a step in the right direction, but it confirms that there is no sure fire way for external entities to accurately collect traffic information on the majority of the web sites on the Internet.
More to the point, if your stressing because your website is not getting good rankings in these sites, or worse still, if your spending thousands of dollars trying to get in there, you may well be wasting your money and time doing so.
Focusing instead on great, relevant content that a visitor to your web site will find of value, and give them a reason to bookmark your site and to visit again (or purchase your products, etc). This is far more likely to give you success than a ranking from a traffic site.
At the end of the day, the only important ranking should be the amount of traffic coming to your website, and the percentage of conversions you are making from that (conversions being sales, or opt-in’s, or whatever else you are trying to achieve).
Until next time.
Cheers

Web Traffic Ain’t That Hard To Get
Hello again,
Guru Internet Marketers will tell you that’s it’s very hard to get decent traffic to your website, and that you need to buy an expensive e-Book to give you the vital information.
I’m here to tell you that, it really is not that hard. First things, first, a disclaimer if you will, I sell an e-Book on Web Traffic myself, but… (and it’s a big but) I also give people the option of obtaining the information for free if they so decide.
I think this is a great idea for people looking for ways to get web traffic to their web site, and it doesn’t cost anything either, pretty neat, huh?
Now if your like me, your probably wondering what the catch is, just why I am giving the information away for free? Am I just a good natured person wanting to help others? Perhaps I have some sneaky affiliate links in the e-Book that, if people decide to purchase any of the software that I use, that I will make a buck, or two. Maybe I just ask lovingly for you to buy the e-Book down the track, when you have digested some of the free content.
The answer is a little bit of everything. Here is how it works (and listen up, because I believe this is a great way to get more traffic to your web site, as well as more sales in the long term).
When people want to visit my web traffic website (yes, I know your keen to get there to check it out, but please read on first), I give them the option of buying the e-Book for a lousy $47 bucks, with over 120 pages of meaty web traffic content (and I am not talking about an e-Book with double spaced, super large font, with heaps of pictures, as many other e-book authors seem to sell). This is actual meaty text.
The other alternative I give them is to sign up for my mailing list, and they then get a chapter at a time delivered to their Inbox every few days. If you are prepared to wait long enough and are prepared to put up with my humor long enough, you will get everything I know about web traffic for free.
I even put some of the content from each chapter of the e-Book on the website for free, so people can get some info without buying the e-Book or subscribing to the mailing list. Yes that’s right, I even cater for the freeloaders. Whoops did I type that…
Why bother getting people to sign up for a mailing list? Well I’d like to think I could build up a relationship with people over a period of time, introduce myself to people, tell them a bit about myself, and get them comfortable that what I am providing is real actual content. It’s really a “try-it” before you buy, but in this case you can fully try it out without ever buying it.
I’d be very interested in your comments about the process, whether you think it is a good idea, and even for that matter, if the content is actually useful to you. Come on, check it out, you know you want to, and be brutally honest in your assessment. Tell me if the information is useful to you. Did it help you get more traffic, did you learn something new?
If your interested in obtaining more traffic to your website, be sure to surf over and sign up for the mailing list (as a special bonus you get to check me out in the video on the front page, and get the proof that I really am an Australian).
I really think this technique is something that will be of great benefit to your Internet Marketing, give people useful information, and they will come back to your website again or again (or sign up for your mailing list and get your information delivered right to their inbox).
Well that’s about it for me, another post bite the dust (or hit’s the database).
Talk soon….
Tim
